Holiday 2004

With the start of December, I now turn my attention to Christmas. I officially started my shopping in September (yes, I am one of those people), however, I find the remains of my shopping list longer than expected this year. Also, the more I watch cooking shows on television, the more recipes I find I want to try. I plan to make time for Christmas biscuits and I still have the cards to send and the tree to decorate. As organised and ahead of myself I try to be, there still seems more to do, however, I know it will all get done and I will still make time to take delight in the season.

This time of year is filled with celebrations. Hanukkah starts Dec. 8 and ends Dec. 15. To learn more about the Jewish Festival of Light, read Treehouse Trivia. You may also read one of the legends of the poinsettia or flores de noches buena (flower of the Holy Night).

Christmas Day, Dec. 25, provides a time for families to be together and focus on the hope, joy and peace of the season while commemorating the birth of Jesus. On the heels of Christmas comes Boxing Day, Dec. 26 . Finally, 2005 will be ushered in on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

Celebrate Christmas around the world without leaving home. In a Nutshell shares Christmas customs from several countries. For a break during all the hustle and bustle, stop by Treehouse Games to match the quote to the speaker.
